The system is highly portable, flexible and very function
rich. This makes it easy to use in a variety of practical teaqching
situations as well as useful to the full range of learners'
abilities. With a relatively small amount of practice, teachers
and learners can quickly become proficient users of this
relatively user-friendly system. Once video is captiured
the teacher or learner can compare a range of different ability
performances or judge a performer against a role model.
The use of exemplar performance when introducing skills
to be acquired and developed was very useful, not least because
it provided an opportunity for pupils to observe skills being
executed with great accuracy, in slow-motion etc. Students
used the video clips that had been captured and the tools
available to analyse their weork with a godd degree of success.
They enjoyed working with the system and it really caught
their imagination and stimulated their thought processes
when evaluating and improving performance. Individual performers
were able to improve their performance immediately following
the visual feedback they had seen.
In short, does the system improve teaching and learning
in physical education lessons?
Is it an effective and useful system, in the context
of a school physical education department, in improvig
levels
of "practical use" of ICT with physical education?
On the basis of the evidence from our trial the answer is
a RESOUNDING YES to both questions. So GO
GET IT AND USE IT.
