Swinger Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between SwingerPlus and SwingerPro 2.0?

There are a number of important differences between SwingerPro and SwingerPlus. SwingerPlus is bascially a more advanced version of SwingerPro that builds on its range of core features. Key differences include Lesson Mode, Commentary Mode, Dual Camera Capture, Strobe Imaging and the Database. For more information about the differences, please consult the SwingerPro and SwingerPlus pages of this website.

How do SwingerPlus & SwingerPro relate to SwingerViewer?

The SwingerViewer is designed to provide an easy way for clients or students to take home the content of their lesson or consultation for review on their own computer. SwingerViewer can be customised to a particular business and contain promotional information or links where required. For more information about SwingerViewer, click here.

What is Lesson Mode? (SwingerPlus & SwingerTeacher)

Lesson Mode enables the coach or teacher to record both the visual and audio content of their client's or student's lesson in a single file. This file can then be given to the client or student on a SwingerViewer CD enabling them to review their lesson on their own computer.

What accessories can I use with Swinger?

All of Webbsoft's remote capture triggering devices can be used with SwingerPlus, SwingerPro and SwingerTeacher. For more detailed information about the accessories, please click here.

What equipment do I need to run Swinger?

Swinger products require a suitable PC and support direct capture from Mini DV cameras via the firewire interface. For capturing video from a Mini DV camera, a firewire port is required on the computer. For more information about hardware requirements please visit our Technical Information page.

Can I use the new DVD and Hard Disc Cameras ?

DVD and Hard Disc cameras are relatively new on the market and use a heavily compressed format of video (MPEG2). Because of the nature of MPEG2, video from these cameras can be used in Swinger but must first be converted into AVI files to allow proper and accurate frame-by-frame and graphics control. Because the video is significanlty more compressed than DV, it should be noted that early models of these cameras are not as well suited to video analysis environments.

Should I use a desktop or notebook computer?

Swinger will work on both laptops and desktops so the purchase decision should be based on your budget and the required performance. If you travel a lot or wish to use Swinger in the field or on court, then a notebook may best suit your needs. However, if you only use your computer from your office or home a desktop might be better. For information on Swinger's technical requirements for computers, click here.
